THE MOST ROMANTIC, RIDICULOUS, CORNY LOVE STORY

In January 2022, Dmitri Cherniak released “Dead Ringers:” 31 artworks generated by an algorithm and then minted to randomly generated Ethereum wallet addresses. No one owns them. His project was a commentary on the vast number of addresses available and the security that provides. Why? Well, it is basically impossible to find any of these wallets (or the artwork they hold), as there are 16 TO THE POWER OF 40 (aka 1,461,501,637,330,902,918,203,684,832,716,283,019,655,932,542,976) possible addresses.
But we love a lost cause.
So we created “True Love:” an experimental crypto artwork consisting of an algorithm that seeks to generate all possible Ethereum wallets in search of the ones containing “Dead Ringers.”
The algorithm will improve and perfect itself over time. It will make itself learn and be better. It will make and take suggestions and requests for operations requirements in order to achieve its unlikely goal. The search may never end. That is the point.
This search for something so statistically implausible is a tribute to what makes us human. Our absurd drive to search for things that we will probably not find -like a hidden treasure in the vastness of the oceans or true love among billions of beings- is something unique to our species… and we think that’s beautiful, regardless of whether we find what we are looking for or not.
The search itself is what is special.
